Paul McGann (Withnail and I, Doctor Who) and pianist Stephen Horne will present Frank Hurley’s extraordinary documentary of Ernest Shackleton’s 1914-1917 expedition to Antarctica, South. A record of one of the greatest epics in the history of exploration, this is the original 1919 film produced by Shackleton and Hurley, now restored by the BFI with the original tints and toning. McGann will narrate, reading Shackleton’s letters to Horne’s elegiac score.

Accompanied by Stephen Horne on the grand piano, with Paul McGann narrating
