The Secret Celluloid Society presents David Lynch's one-of-a-kind surrealist horror debut film Eraserhead as part of our After Hours series at the Gables Cinema. Set against a bleak, post-apocalyptic landscape, Eraserhead explores the life of Henry Spencer (Jack Nance), a despondent industrial worker who learns he is the father of a frightening, mutant-like infant. Described by celebrated film critic Roger Ebert as “something that literally looked, sounded and felt like nothing that had ever come before it,” this nightmarish, disturbing cult classic was selected to be preserved in the National Film Registry by the United States Library of Congress in 2004.
