Irish writer-director John Carney (Once, Begin Again) brings us Sing Street, taking an autobiographical turn with a fictionalized version of his teen years in depressed mid-1980s Dublin, as 14-year-old Conor (appealing newcomer Ferdia Walsh-Peelo) forms a rock-and-roll bacnd to win the heart of an aspiring model. Also stars Aidan Gillan and Maria Doyle Kennedy (The Commitments).
