Brian De Palma's spin on Alfred Hitchcock's "Vertigo" casts Cliff Robertson as Michael Courtland, a New Orleans businessman whose life is shattered when his wife and daughter are tragically killed in a botched kidnap rescue attempt. Many years later while visiting Italy he meets and falls in love with Sandra Portinari (Genevieve Bujold) who bears a striking resemblance to his wife.
