E.B Wells’ classic children’s story of a pig trying to save his own skin comes to the big screen in the classic 1973 animated musical drama Charlotte’s Web. Wilbur (voiced by Henry Gibson) arrives at the Arable Farm and quickly discovers that a pig’s life is not always an easy one. At first, his only friend is Arable’s daughter, Fern, who convinces her father to keep Wilbur as a pet. However, as the spring pig Wilbur matures, he is sold to Fern’s indifferent uncle. To keep from becoming the family dinner, Wilbur teams up with Charlotte (Debbie Reynolds of Singin’ in The Rain), a spider with a knack for flair. When Charlotte starts writing words in her webs, the whole town believes Wilbur is the mastermind. The film features the spectacular musical score written by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, The Jungle Book, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). This film is suitable for ages 6 and up.
