The Bride (Uma Thurman) is out for bloody vengeance in Quentin Tarantino's action-packed homage to the Shaw Brother, spaghetti westerns and all kinds of grindhouse cinema. On the day of her wedding, the Bride is attacked by her old flame Bill (David Carradine, in a role completely opposite from that of Kung Fu) and his Deadly Viper Assassination Squad (devilishly portrayed by Lucy Liu, Daryl Hannah, Vivica A. Fox, and Michael Madsen). The guests are all torn to shreds and the Bride herself is shot point blank in the head – while pregnant with Bill’s child. Five years later, the Bride wakes up from a coma with only one thing on her mind: killing everyone. The concept for Kill Bill was conceived on the set of Pulp Fiction between Thurman and Tarantino; the film’s story credit goes to “Q & U.” And let’s not forget that killer soundtrack that’ll slice your neck, produced by another lover of all things martial arts: the RZA. Cue Ironside theme.
