Sasha is being groomed for proper Russian aristocracy, but she'd much rather embark on adventures than attend fancy galas. Her taste for excitement is inherited from her grandfather, a famous explorer known for his grandiose vision. When her grandfather and his famous ship disappear on their latest expedition to conquer the North Pole, he becomes the laughing stock of St. Petersburg and Sasha makes it her mission to restore the family legacy. Setting out on her own into uncharted waters, she joins a group of sailors as chilly as the icebergs that surround them. Together they must face treacherous terrain and harsh conditions in order to find what's been lost at sea. With its expansive backdrops awash in swaths of pastel, Long Way North paints an enchanting portrait of worlds yet to be discovered, while Sasha's unwavering courage and devotion allow her to honor the path of those that came before her without sacrificing the opportunity to forge her own. Winner of the Audience Award at the 2015 Annecy International Animated Film Festival. This film is suitable for ages 7+
