Laleh Pourkarim is Sweden’s biggest female musical artist, and one of the few who is a songwriter, producer and performer. As opponents of the regime, her parents Houshang and Atefe were living underground in Iran when Laleh was born. Soon, the family went into exile and on an odyssey through the Soviet Union and Germany, winding up in Sweden. Laleh grew up in a Gothenburg suburb and the rest is history.
