CHARLOTTE’S WEB
Sunday, June 14 at 11 am
With colorful hand-drawn animation and infectious songs by the Sherman Brothers (Mary Poppins, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang), this rollicking musical about the friendship between a spider and a pig has delighted families since its 1973 release.
Animated musical film Charlotte’s Web is based upon the 1952 classic children’s book of the same name by E.B. White. The film, like the book, is about a thoughtful and industrious little spider named Charlotte who pledges to save a pig named Wilbur from his dire fate. Adding to the fun are the well-known voices of Debbie Reynolds (Charlotte), Paul Lynde (Templeton the rat), Agnes Moorehead (the Goose) and Henry Gibson (Wilbur). (USA, 1973, 94 min., Rated G, DVD | Dir. Charles A. Nichols)
