Description

If you thought you knew the world of LEGO, you don't know brick. Step into the amazing real-life world of the global phenomenon that will captivate fans of all ages.

Oscar winning Director Daniel Junge and Oscar Nominated Director Kief Davidson take us on a journey through the LEGO brand...like you have never seen before. They explore the brick that has captured imaginations for generations and look at the fundamental question - - is it a toy or something more?

A LEGO® Brickumentary delves into the extraordinary impact of the LEGO brick and the innovative uses for it that have sprung up all over the world. The narrative takes us through art galleries full of LEGO creations, introduces us to Master Builders designing and creating life-sized LEGO models (as well as those who employ LEGO bricks to create their own films), leads us into the world of LEGO therapy, and brings us along to meet Adult Fans of LEGO (AFOLS), each with amazing stories to tell. Through each of these stories, the documentary explores the essential nature of human creativity and the ways we seek to build and understand our world.

FILM SOCIETY MEMBER SPECIAL

Film Society Members can get 2 for 1 admission to the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum's Nature Connects® Art With LEGO® Bricks exihbit on display now through August 30, and the Community LEGO® Brick Builds on August 8, 22, and 26. The innovative work of Sean Kenney's sculptures with LEGO® bricks will inspire and delight our visitors and members. Just as LEGO® bricks connect to each other, we connect to nature. The Arboretum wants to challenge the way you think of the traditional garden exhibits, delight in the artistry of LEGO® bricks, and CONNECT with nature in a whole new way! This summer exhibit features 26 sculptures using more than 450,000 LEGO® bricks at 13 locations on the Arboretum grounds. To learn more about the exhibit and Community Builds, click here.
