NFF NOW: Rams
In a
secluded valley in Iceland, Gummi and Kiddi live side by side, tending to their
sheep. Their stock has for generations been considered one of the country’s
best. Still, they have not spoken to each other in over 40 years. Their rivalry
comes to an unexpected head when a lethal disease suddenly infects one of their
flocks, posing a serious threat to their sheep, their community, and their
lives. By turns funny and suspenseful, intense and satirical, RAMS is one of
the most awarded and talked-about foreign language films of the year and
Iceland’s submission for the Academy Awards. Courtesy of Cohen Media Group. NFF Now is a new year-round programming initiative by The
Nantucket Film Festival and the Nantucket Dreamland Foundation featuring
special screenings and the season’s best independent films. Sponsored by Cape
Air. Future series screenings: January 21, 2016 and
February 18, 2016.
