Description

Maamun’s mobile phone repair shop is a tiny white container. Next to it is an identical container, and then another, and another. Thousands of containers stretch as far as the eye can see—we are in Zaatari, Jordan, one of the biggest refugee camps in the world where, at its peak in 2013, over 200,000 people were living in limbo. Through Maamun eyes, we see the population of the camp as he rebuilds photos and sound, recovers lost content, and recharges batteries. Their memory cards contain their only link to their past in Syria: happiness, routine, and a family life.
