Nantucket Comedy Festival Presents Stand Up & Learn

Thursday, Friday & Saturday, April 7–9.  The Nantucket Comedy Festival presents the return of the Stand Up & Learn Winter Workshop and Professional Comedy Series, sponsored by Tricia Quick.  Executive Director Kevin Flynn and will be on island to conduct the season’s second workshop for Stand Up & Learn, a comedy education program for young people ages 8–18.  Also, nationally touring comedians Nancy Witter and Tuck Tucker will be here to entertain audiences Saturday evening.

After great success in our workshops, we are excited to start a new round of sessions--not to mention that we are building a special Stand Up & Lean instructional video!  An initiative of the Nantucket Comedy Festival, Stand Up & Learn enables island children to build self-confidence while learning to create and perform original stand-up comedy.

Workshops will take place in the Dreamland Studio Theater, 17 South Water Street, on Thursday and Friday, April 7–8 from 3:30–5 p.m. and on Saturday, April 9 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., followed by a children’s performance at 5 p.m. by the workshop students.  Please sign up soon, as this class will be limited to a maximum of nine children.  All children’s workshops are free to participants. Saturday evening at 7:30, a professional stand-up comedy show (for ages 18 and over) in the Dreamland’s main theater will feature funny mom Nancy Witter and Portland, ME comedian Tuck Tucker.
