George Miller’s adorable 2006 animated feature, Happy Feet, is presented by Gables Cinema as part of our Family Day on Aragon! Mumbles (voiced by Elijah Woods), a penguin born deep in Antarctica, learns he has a disastrous singing voice and no heartsong – two faults that virtually doom his chances for finding a mate. He also discovers he has an uncanny – and very unpenguinlike – ability to tap dance! His parents find it charming, but Noah the Elder believes it displeases their deity and has caused the fish to vanish. Mumbles is cast out to fend for himself, but fortunately meets a band of misfits who love his cool dance moves. Mumbles convinces his new friends they need to find the true cause of the missing fish. They bravely set out on a perilous adventure and prove to all that sometimes our differences are also our strengths. This film is appropriate for ages 6 and up.
