An insightful new documentary about the historic rise of Evo Morales, first indigenous President elected in Bolivia after the 2003 fall of President Sanchez de Lozada and the socialist revolution that enters during this unique historical opportunity.

The real story behind Sandra Bullock's recent feature film "Our Brand Is Crisis," A Moment of Silence (Un minuto de silencio) is a documentary that tells the tale of the demise of Bolivian President Lozado in 2003, and the rise of maverick leftist candidate Evo Morales, who became the country's first elected indigenous leader. Shot over a four year period, the events that led to this dramatic change of regimes are seen through the eyes of journalist Stanley Greenberg and ex-President Lozado (now in exile in the U.S.), amongst others. The film poignantly reveals how dealing with power carries a burden of temptations and pathologies. (Italy/Bolivia/USA, 2016, 85 min., In Spanish with English subtitles, DCP | Dir. Ferdinando Vincentini Orgnani)
