An Evening with ALAN CUMMING

Thursday, September 15th at 7:30pm

$42 Members | $49 Public

Each ticket includes a copy of Cumming’s wildly entertaining new book, “You Gotta Get Bigger Dreams,” ($30 value) and entry into book-signing reception with live music by jazz guitarist Mike Soloway.

Just one day after the release of his wickedly delicious new book, renowned stage and screen actor Alan Cumming joins the Cinema Arts Centre for an evening of conversation, as well as hilarious stories, colorful screen clips and a slideshow of never-before-seen photos all taken by Cumming himself - plus additional kaleidoscopic images of “the many faces of Alan Cumming.” Beyond eclectic, Cumming - acclaimed as “Eli Gold” in the hit TV series The Good Wife - has made back to back films with Stanley Kubrick, Julie Taymor and the Spice Girls, with stage work ranging from Shakespeare to his Tony-Winning performance in Cabaret. We expect this evening to be as wide-ranging and delightfully entertaining as the guest himself.

Alan Cumming is a Scottish actor, author, and activist who has appeared in numerous films, television shows and plays. His London stage appearances include Hamlet and the Maniac in Accidental Death of an Anarchist (for which he received an Oliver Award). On Broadway he has appeared in The Threepenny Opera, as the master of ceremonies in Cabaret (for which he won a Tony), and a one-man adaptation of Macbeth. His best-known film roles include his performances in Emma, GoldenEye, The Spy Kids trilogy, Julie Taymor’s Titus, and X2: X-Men United.  Cumming also introduces Masterpiece Mystery! for PBS and had a major running role for six seasons as Eli Gold on The Good Wife, for which he has been nominated for three Emmys, two SAG awards, two Golden Globes and a Satellite Award. Outspokenly bisexual, Alan’s activism and passion for LGBT causes has earned him many humanitarian awards. His first book was the acclaimed #1 New York Times best selling memoir, Not My Father’s Son.

Hosted by author, lecturer, and CAC’s Producer of Special Events Dr. Jud Newborn.
