On Sunday, October 23rd, we will be kicking off our annual
appeal for program and operating support, the Vic Skolnick Life of the Cinema
Campaign, with a very special, limited-seating, fundraising event. At
11am, we will serve a deliscious brunch in our Sky Room Café, sponsored by Sweet Mama's. Live music will be performed by Hiroya Tsukamoto. There will be an exciting raffle. And then we will move to Cinema One for a 55th anniversary screening of Breakfast at
Tiffany’s.
All proceeds from the event will
go toward our campaign goal of $140,000.
The success of our annual Vic Skolnick Life of the Cinema
Campaign is crucial to our ability to keep bringing the best in independent
film programming and cultural events to Long Island. Help us launch our campaign with your
attendance at this exclusive event.
Breakfast
at Tiffany’s, initially released in October
1961, stars Audrey Hepburn, George Peppard, and Patricia Neal. Based on Truman Capote’s best-selling
novella, Breakfast At Tiffany’s captured the imagination of audiences
everywhere and made an indelible impact on movies, fashion and society at
large. Audrey Hepburn’s intoxicating New York party girl Holly Golightly
embarks on a wildly entertaining, comedic adventure to find love in the big
city. Blake Edwards’ masterpiece is one of the most beloved films in
cinematic history. (USA,
1961, 115 min., Not Rated, DCP, Dir. Blake Edwards)
