This behind-the-scenes mockumentary follows dog after dog after dog as they compete in the Mayflower Kennel Club Dog Show. We also get to see just what these dogs has to put up with.
There's the middle-class couple from Florida, Gerry and Cookie Fleck (Levy, O'Hara) who keep running into Cookie's past flames and can only afford to stay in the hotel's storage room, Meg and Hamilton Swan (Posey, Hitchcock), who think they're yuppies but are really just neurotic, Scott Donlan and Stefan Vanderhoof (Higgins, McKean), who are entirely confident of their win, Sherri Ann and Leslie Cabot (Coolidge, Cranshaw), a trophy wife and her sugar daddy who have won the show twice before, and Harlan Pepper (Guest), an owner of a fishing goods store who wants to be a ventriloquist. They're all more or less fiercely competitive but definitely fiercely funny.
