Join host Bill Shelley for a celebration of the great singer’s centennial from 1915…plus one. This program is a treat for all ages and testament that “The Voice” is as popular now as ever.

Sinatra’s appeal was international for his records, concerts, and movies. He conquered stage, screen, radio, television, and recordings, beginning in the 1930’s and lasting for the rest of his life, putting his style and interpretations to a range of music genre, from pop and Broadway tunes to rock, while singing solo as well as collaborating with other artists. Before the popularity of Elvis and the Beatles, there was “The Voice,” as he became referred to early on in his career. His screaming, young female, fans, “the Bobby Soxers,” started a new standard of the measure of a performer’s popularity. His perfectionism in the recording studio also set new standards, while giving the outer impression of making it all look easier than it was.
Perhaps the best way to discover and celebrate Sinatra’s talents is through examinations of his concert touring. Many fans say that he shined best with a live audience, and the footage will attest to his love of a crowd and how consummate a performer he was Using rare concert footage from around the world, this program will include classics like “I’ve Got You Under My Skin,” “All the Way,” “Night and Day,” “Come Fly With Me,” “My Way,” “The Lady Is a Tramp,” “Witchcraft,” and many more. Also included will be a brief tribute to Frank Sinatra, Jr., who passed away this year. Approx. 100 minutes.
