FIVE-FINGER DISCOUNT:  A Crooked Family History tells Helene Stapinski’s story of growing up in a Jersey City family often overwhelmed with petty criminals, crooks, corrupt politicians, murderers and mobster wannabes, at a time when Jersey City was the poster-child for 20th Century urban political corruption.  The documentary follows Helene’s journey to emancipate herself from this legacy by becoming a writer -- without losing her love of and attachment to her family.
