Two and a Half Stars is a multi-media show with live-scoring, in the form of oddball rock songs, to films both derided and beloved. You’ll laugh, you’ll cry, you’ll maybe tap your toe. The band is made up of Sean Healey, Bix Skahill, and Geoff Sass, three fellows born in the same year. They are somehow destined to take their lives in film and music to this split-level event of the mind -- called Two And A Half Stars.
Cat and Fox is the collision of songwriters and guitarists Sierra Corneil and Thea Sass-Ainsworth. Drawing on the dark corners of rock and the tenderness of jazz, they create hauntingly progressive soundscapes driven by distorted guitar riffs. The pair find their rhythmic center with drummer Ollie Moltaji and bassist James Arroyo Miller. A writing partnership of two kindred hearts, Cat and Fox’s songs tell ghost stories of bar close decisions, empty, decaying houses, and the mania of love affairs. Their songs are presented here in conversation with collaged, feverish images of gothic landscapes, noir-soaked shadows, smoke from the cigarettes between femme fatales lips, and the lushness of flowers.
