WILD COMBINATION

"A tender, fascinating documentary by Matt Wolf, will delight the cult and instantly convert new members." -New York Times

Multitalented musician Arthur Russell leaves Iowa, follows Allen Ginsberg from San Francisco to New York and launches a career that reaches its heyday in the 1980s.

Rip Russell will be a guest, and Jason Livingston will moderate the discussion.

A graduate of the UI Theatre Arts department, Rip Russell performs extensively with many local theatre groups and is employed in Radiology at UIHC. Rip is a first cousin to Arthur Russell. He lives in Iowa City with his wife Janis and their pet birds, Dickens and Harry.

Jason Livingston is a film and video maker from Upstate New York, presently teaching filmmaking at the University of Iowa’s Department of Cinematic Arts. His work has been programmed at many festivals and venues, including the Rotterdam International Film Festival, Anthology Film Archives, the Austrian Film Museum, the Margaret Mead Film Festival, Media City and more.
