Description

PATERSON
Directed by Jim Jarmusch and starring Adam Driver

The new film from Jim Jarmusch focuses on a working-class poet (Adam Driver) in a small New Jersey town who practices his craft amidst the quiet magic of everyday life.

Paterson (Adam Driver) is a bus driver in the city of Paterson, New Jersey - they share the name. He adheres to a simple routine: he drives his daily route, observing the city as it drifts across his windshield and overhears fragments of conversation swirling around him; he scribbles poetry into a notebook; he walks his dog; he drinks one beer at the bar; he goes home to his wife, Laura (Golshifteh Farahani). By contrast, Laura’s world is ever changing. New dreams come to her daily, each a different and inspired project. He supports her newfound ambitions; she champions his secret gift for poetry. Daily life’s quiet triumphs and defeats are observed, along with the poetry evident in its smallest details. (USA, Germany & France, 2016, 118 min., English, NR, Digital |Dir. Jim Jarmusch)
