JACKIE Starring Natalie Portman

CoPresented by the Town of Huntington

Friday, March 24 at 2 pm | Free! -

Natalie Portman exquisitely inhabits the persona of Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy in this striking depiction of the events leading up to and following the assassination of JFK.

Jackie is a searing and intimate portrait of one of the most important and tragic moments in American history, seen through the eyes of the iconic First Lady, then Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy (Natalie Portman). Jackie places us in her world during the days immediately following her husband’s assassination. Known for her extraordinary dignity and poise, here we see a psychological portrait of the First Lady as she struggles to maintain her husband’s legacy and the world of “Camelot” that they created and loved so well. Provocative Chilean director Pablo Larraín (Tony Manero, No) has moved beyond his native Chile to deliver a magnificent recreation of a defining moment in US politics and lore, and the woman we all knew as Jackie. (USA/Chile/France, 2016, 100 min, Rated R, DCP | Dir. Pablo Larraín)
