Description

The Ann Arbor Art Center presents a moving images exhibition in partnership with the 55th annual Ann Arbor Film Festival.

Off The Screen! uses Art Center galleries as alternate environments for cinema-related creation and experimentation. Artists' work in this exhibition comes from Ann Arbor, Detroit, Nashville, Taiwan, and Turkey and brings into the Art Center meditative installations that spur interaction or introspection. At the Art Center, these works will be installed in both a blacked out second floor 117 Gallery and in the Aquarium Gallery, the Ashley Street-facing window micro gallery.

Art Center galleries director Megan Winkel says, "this exhibition, rich in sound and visual design, immerses visitors in an experience that requires stillness and a willingness to actively engage and that evokes drifting self-reflections on current event in the US. It is also a wonderful opportunity for us to continue collaborating with our colleagues and friends at the film festival."
