The Coltrane Home, where John, Alice and their young family spent his last years, is featured prominently in Chasing Trane. The home, located in Dix Hills, in the heart of Long Island is now at the center of a campaign to restore it to its former state and bring it back to life as as a museum and cultural center. Support this treasure by joining us for this emotionally-powerful documentary film about an extraordinary talent whose music continues to influence people around the world.

This rich compelling portrait of a remarkable artist reveals the critical events, passions, experiences and challenges that shaped the life of John Coltrane and his revolutionary sounds. It is a story of demons and darkness, of persistence and redemption. It is the journey of a spiritual warrior who found himself, found God, and in the process, created an extraordinary body of work that transcends barriers of race, religion, age and geography. The few interviews Coltrane gave, narrated by Denzel Washington, illuminate what Coltrane was thinking and feeling at critical moments throughout his life and career. Set against the social, political and cultural landscape of the times, Chasing Trane brings Coltrane to life as a fully dimensional being, inviting the audience to engage with Coltrane the man, Coltrane the artist.
