Laced with the raw passion and the drama of drag set against the setting of contemporary Cuba, Viva comes to life with exquisite tenderness.

Jesus has spent most of his young adult life in styling wigs at a drag club in Havana, longing for a purpose other than the pennies he scrapes together in the shadows of his surroundings. When Jesus is offered the chance to perform amongst the other queens, the cruel winds of fate bring his estranged, abusive father back into his life after 15 years. What unfolds is a bittersweet story of pain, regret, and reconciliation and more- a love story as father and son try to understand one another and reconcile as a family.

VIVA was a hit at the prestigious Sundance and Telluride Film Festival’s , and was shortlisted for the Best Foreign Film Academy Award this year. It is an emotional and unforgettable cinematic experience.

The film will be followed by a post-film conversation with CubaOne Co-Founder Andrew Jimenez and O Cinema Co-founder Kareem Tabsch.

This screening is a fundraiser for CubaOne Foundation.
