Description

Real-to-Reel / Community Connections

Based in the Middle East, Disturbing The Peace is the true story of how Israeli soldiers
and Palestinian fighters, mortal enemies, come to be even stronger allies. These opposing
combatants -pawns of a larger struggle- join together to challenge the status quo and
say “enough.” These soldiers committed to armed battle transform into nonviolent
peace activists: Combatants for Peace. Let this story of overcoming hate and bias evoke
the universal values shared by us all and inspire us to become active participants in the
creation of our world. (USA, Israel & Palestine, 2016, 83 min., English, NR, DCP | Dir.
Stephen Apkon & Andrew Young)
