Anne Hathaway stars in this wildly entertaining tale about a young woman who moves back to her hometown to straighten out her life, only to discover that her actions are causing a giant monster to attack Seoul, South Korea.
Gloria (Anne Hathaway) is an out-of-work party girl. Her boyfriend has enough of it and throws her out. Gloria returns to her hometown, dreaming of making a new start, but instead revives her childhood friendship with Oscar (Jason Sudeikis), who runs a bar. After drinking a night away with Oscar and his friends, she wakes up to discover news that a gigantic monster is rampaging through Seoul, South Korea and realizes that somehow the monster is connected to her. Gloria gradually comes to the realization that she is connected to this far-off phenomenon. As events begin to spin out of control, Gloria must determine why her seemingly insignificant existence has such a colossal effect on the fate of the world.
