Nantucket
Comedy Festival Presents Stand Up & Learn
Thursday, Friday & Saturday, March 15–17,
the Nantucket Comedy Festival presents our popular Stand Up & Learn Winter
Workshop and Professional Comedy Series.
Executive Director Kevin Flynn will be on island to conduct the workshops
for Stand Up & Learn, a comedy education program for young people ages
8–18. An initiative of the Nantucket
Comedy Festival, Stand Up & Learn enables island children to build
self-confidence while learning to create and perform original stand-up comedy. Children can choose to perform in a special
kids’ show on Saturday evening at the Dreamland, and even return in the summer
for Stand Up & Learn’s Kids’ Night on Wednesday, July 11.
Workshops for this session will take place in
the Dreamland Studio Theater, 17 South Water Street, on Thursday and Friday,
March 15–17 from 3:30–5 p.m. and on Saturday, March 17 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m.,
followed by a children’s performance at 5 p.m. put on by the workshop
participants. Please sign up soon, as
this class will be limited to a maximum of fifteen children. All children’s workshops are free to
participants. Saturday evening at 7:00, a professional stand up comedy show
(for ages 18 and over) in the Dreamland’s main theater will feature Ken
Rogerson.
