After working behind the camera on such classics as KRUSH GROOVE, DO THE RIGHT THING, and MALCOM X, Ernest R. Dickerson made his directorial debut with the 1992 urban crime drama JUICE. This film also marks the feature film acting debut of the late Tupac Shakur. JUICE is one of our favorite films from the early 90’s, not just because of the great casting. Most notably, Jermaine Hopkins as Eric “Steel” Thurman and Tupac Shakur as Roland Bishop, but also the masterful direction by Dickerson who would go on to direct one of our other 90’s favorites, TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT.
