Having left a successful career as a novela actor in Buenos Aires for a shot at fame and success in New York, boyishly handsome Nico (Guillermo Pfening) quickly finds his dreams of stardom colliding with the realities of life in this strange and unforgiving new city. Making ends meet by babysitting, waiting tables and occasionally shoplifting, Nico pins his hopes for both professional success and permanent residency on a role in a new film by a hot up-and-coming Mexican director—and working his way into the good graces of powerful movie producer Kara Reynolds (Cristina Morrison.) But while the promise of stardom in his new country seems just within reach, a series of increasingly painful humiliations, and the unexpected appearance of troubled former lover Martin (Rafael Ferro), soon push Nico to his breaking point, forcing him to choose between the hard realities of life as a struggling actor in New York or admitting defeat and returning to Argentina.
