The Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore lead film was the highest grossing movie of 1990, taking in more than half-a-billion dollars. It was nominated for five Academy Awards, winning two of them. Bruce Joel Rubin won for Best Original Screenplay and Whoopi Goldberg won for Best Supporting Actress.
