This program acknowledges the music contributions of six artists and groups newly inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.
Join us as we honor the 2018 inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Learn of the history of these artists and some background about their hit songs. This program will feature The Moody Blues (“Nights in White Satin”), The Cars (“My Best Friend’s Girl”), Dire Straits (“Money for Nothing”), Bon Jovi (“Livin’ on a Prayer”), Sister Rosetta Tharpe (“That Lonesome Road”), and Nina Simone (“Mississippi Goddam”). We will examine what makes these creative people so unique, starting in the 1930’s with music from Sister Rosetta Tharpe and going to the 1960 sounds of The Moody Blues and Nina Simon, the 1970’s New Wave music of The Cars, and the 1980’s MTV Anthems of Dire Straits and Bon Jovi.
