It's 1897, and Oscar Wilde is finally out of prison for his "gross indecency" charge. His wit is still intact, but the man himself isn't the same as he was before the years of hard labor and solitary confinement. Separated from his wife, he attempts to make good so that she will reconcile with him and he can once again see his two sons. He exiles himself to the Continent under an assumed name to avoid new scandal. He no longer cares to write, and he has few friends and no money to his name.
But this is a time for new beginnings. As to what that beginning is, Oscar can't say. Bosie, the man who ruined him in 1985 is now pursuing Oscar for more romantic entanglements. Despite his downfall, Wilde is determined to live as he always has: beyond his means, and with cutting wit for what little time he has left.
