"It's always fascinating to watch; the thrills and spills are so classy and fast that the movie becomes in effect what horror movies seemed like when you were too young to get in to see them." - Time Out

"What lingers is not a sense of evil but exhilaration in how far Argento and his fellow filmmakers were willing to go to shock and delight; the movie's sheer exuberance is the cinematic equivalent of a blood transfusion."

The Ringer

Suzy Bannion travels to the Tanze dance academy in Germany to perfect her ballet skills. Upon arrival, she is refused admission after another woman is seen fleeing the school. The next morning, she returns and is let in, but discovers that the young woman she saw fleeing has been found dead. Strange things soon begin to occur-- Suzy falls ill; the school becomes infested with maggots; odd sounds abound. A bit of research indicates that the ballet school was once a witches' coven-- and as Suzy learns, may still be.
