Part of the 10th Minnesota Cuban Film Festival.
When the Soviet Union collapsed in 1992, Soviet cosmonaut Sergei Krikalev was forced to stay in orbit until funds could be found to bring him back. Intertwining fictionalized personal experiences with historical facts, the film imagines an amateur radio operator in Cuba who stumbles on a channel that communicates directly with the Mir space station, enabling him to develop a deep friendship with the stranded Russian.
