In this stylish, simmering drama from director Benjamín Naishtat, a self-righteous detective is pitted against a seemingly upstanding lawyer. Set in a small town in 1970s Argentina, Rojo follows Claudio, a lawyer whose exemplary reputation is challenged when a frantic stranger accosts him at a restaurant and later outside the establishment. Claudio quickly finds himself in a situation he never expected–hiding a body. Blending thriller, dark comedy and a historical examination of the economic climate of Argentina at the time, Rojo also serves as a deconstruction of a technically good man, Claudio, whose choices stand in direct conflict with his supposed ethics. When a private detective named Sinclair turns up to get to the bottom of a disappearance, his path leading him to Claudio, the difference between good talk and good deeds becomes apparent.

Press
"The complacency and corruption of pre-coup Argentina is laid bare in chilling, absurd style in Benjamin Naishtat's superb third feature." - Variety
