Due to the success of The Jolson Story, in 1946,  Jolsonmania was at its height.  Columbia decided to follow up with a sequel.  Released in 1949, Jolson Sings Again stars Larry Parks, William Demerest, Ludwig Donath,  Barbara Hale, and the voice of AL JOLSON. After his wife Julie leaves him,  Al Jolson (Larry Parks), depressed, gathers courage to return to the stage. As World War II begins, he initially avoids military show tours, afraid he has been forgotten. However, upon the urging of a producer, Al finds new life touring hospitals and meets charming nurse Ellen Clark (Barbara Hale). Then, a producer shows interest in producing a film on Jolson’s life……..And as we did in 2016, we follow up in 2019 with the 70th anniversary of JOLSON SINGS AGAIN: “You ain’t heard nothin’ yet!” (USA, 1949, NR, 108 min., | dir. Henry Levin)
