An intimate portrait of the beloved Riverhead raceway, and the tribe of passionate Long Island blue-collar drivers that call it home, struggling to hold on to an American racing tradition as real estate development threatens its survival.
At its peak, Long Island accommodated over 40 different auto racing tracks. Today, every one of them has closed, except Riverhead Raceway. This is the story of the last stock-car racing track on Long Island, and its struggle to survive a changing culture and the suburban development sweeping the area. The film offers a unique glimpse into the lives of the racers and the community around them, on and off the track, as they struggle to keep the last vestige of racing on Long Island alive. The Buzzards are a rockabilly band out of Long Island.
