Come and celebrate the centennial of the birth of offbeat comedy genius, Ernie Kovacs, with this hilarious presentation of his greatest gags and career highlights - hosted by Kovacs archivist Ben Model and, Josh Mills, the son of Ernie’s wife Edie Adams.

Comedian Ernie Kovacs was on television almost nonstop from 1950 to 1962, bouncing from one network to another. Kovacs packaged his unique, zany, offbeat, anarchic and often surreal humor in a way that was designed for the medium. Kovacs innately understood how to do comedy with television, and not just on it. The characters he created – Pierre Ragout, Howard the World’s Strongest Ant, Percy Dovetonsils, Matzoh Hepplewhite, the wordless Eugene and the infamous Nairobi Trio – live on in fans’ memories. This program celebrates the centennial of Kovacs’ birth with career highlights that include his commercials for Dutch Masters Cigars, music video pieces, blackout gags to the tune of “Mack the Knife” in German, the 1957 color spectacular that put Kovacs on the map and on the cover of Life magazine, and much more. The evening will be co-hosted by Josh Mills, the son of Kovacs’ wife and collaborator Edie Adams, and by Kovacs archivist Ben Model, who will introduce the program and answer questions following the screening.
