"Four stars. A brash, black comedy. It has a dark heart that stays beating." - The Guardian
"Mickey is the kind of schlubby loser that Philip Seymour Hoffman excelled at playing, especially in small, indie projects such as this one." - Marjorie Baumgarten, Austin Chronicle
Philip Seymour Hoffman and Christina Hendricks star in this twisted comedy directed by Mad Men's John Slattery. In the gritty, blue-collar neighborhood of God's Pocket, Mickey Scarpato (Hoffman) loses his crazy stepson, Leon, in a construction "accident," and Mickey quickly tries to bury the bad news with the body. But when a local columnist comes sniffing around for the truth, things go from bad to worse. The 2014 Sundance Film Festival selection also stars John Turturro and Richard Jenkins.
