Description

Young Bodies Heal Quickly is a haunting film, mostly because the title remains forever in doubt. This is a film of hope.”—Gabe Toro, IndieWire

Two brothers, ten years apart in age, are on the lam after “accidentally” killing a child. On the road, in a car provided by their protective mother, their interactions with strangers further remind them just how far out on a limb they really are. After reaching their estranged father's desolate compound on the seashore, Dad forces the boys on his own annual trip—to re-enact the Vietnam War in a remote forest.

After a series of stunningly wonderful shorts and a spot on Filmmaker Magazine's "5 New Faces of Independent Film" list, this is director Andrew T. Betzer's debut feature film, starring Hale Lytle, Gabriel Croft, Julie Sokolowski, Daniel P. Jones, and Kate Lyn Sheil. Other behind-the-scenes credits include legendary executive producer Christine Vachon (Far From Heaven, Boys Don’t Cry, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Happiness, Safe, among many) and undisputed modern master cinematographer Sean Price Williams (Listen Up Phillip, The Color Wheel, Beetle Queen Conquers Tokyo), shooting on his native format, 16mm. - Mike Keegan
