Ramon Valle has become known as “the Other Face of Cuban Jazz.”
Though he and his trio members are Cuban, their Latin rhythms are
unexpected. This is modern jazz played by Cubans. Ramon’s ‘TAKE-OFF’ on several jazz/pop classic standards and new
originals are destined to become new standards, create the launching pad for
Ramon’s own career to ‘TAKE OFF’ on a grand scale internationally.
Valle is supported by double bassist, Omar Rodriguez Calvo, whose
imaginative and colorful syncopated playing mirrors Ramon’s, has also
performed with Roy Hargrove, Mike Stern and Germany’s well-known
Tingvall Trio; and drummer Ernesto Simpson, whose work has been featured
with Herbie Hancock, Paquito D'Rivera, and Richard Bona.
Valle has been featured on international stages as: The London Jazz
Festival, The North Sea Jazz Festival, Havana Jazz festival, Bogotá Jazz
Festival/Colombia, Montreux Jazz Festival, Leverkusen Festival, Piano
Solo Festival/Prague, Capetown Jazz Festival, Melbourne Jazz Festival,
Johannesburg Jazz Festival, Hungarian Jazz Festival/Budapest, Israel’s
Sinfonietta Beer Sheva, and tours in Barcelona, Luxembourg, Austria,
France, Belgium, Mexico, with multiple performances at the Bimhuis in
Amsterdam, where he now resides.
