Description

The Kalashnikov (also known as the AK-47) is an assault rifle that has been used since World War II, and has become the image of the conflict in the Middle East. "Weapons of Light” is a documentary film about Philip Lawson, a San Francisco Bay Area art teacher, art therapist, sculptor, poet, and true believer, who has a unique take on art, religion, and current conflicts. The film pictures his life, art, and creative process, by focusing on his latest body of work: conceptual art pieces which transform the AK-47 to a translucent sculpture that projects light and represents virtues such as Love and Temperance.
