Environmental topics are rarely the focus of attention for Russian documentary filmmakers (for many reasons). But when it comes to animation, the country has a long history of creating great work. Anastasia LaukkanenAnastasia Laukkanen is the founder and program director of the ECOCUP Green Film Festival which takes place in cities throughout Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan and Belorussia, with a launch event in Moscow each February. Since 2010, the Festival brings new environmental documentaries to Russia for the first time, as well as filmmakers and environmental professionals from around the world. In 2016, with the same festival team, Anastasia founded Love.Doc - the first Russian documentary film festival about love, in all its forms. Anastasia has a background in journalism and writes for several Russian media outlets. She lives in Istanbul, Turkey.
