For all the reporting about Aleppo, Syria, including stories of fighting, destruction, and politics, it must be remembered that there are still people who live in this besieged city in need of medical attention, fires to be fought, and lives to be saved. Enter the White Helmets, a dedicated if not weary and cynical group of men, whose job is to enter destroyed buildings, search for the dead and administer triage to those on the edge of life. Khalid, Subhi and Mahmoud are the founding members, dedicated to helping the city and its people, yet terrified that they themselves will be killed, avoiding bombs and chemical weapons as they make their rounds.

Director’s Biography
Feras Fayyad: Feras Fayyad has a degree from the École Internationale de Création Audiovisuelle et de Réalisation, France, and is an award-winning filmmaker, journalist, and radio producer. Last Men in Aleppo is his debut feature documentary.
