A Celebration of Harry Chapin
Tuesday, October 17 at 7:30 pm | Members $11 | Public $16 | Includes Reception

Folk singer-songwriter-activist Harry Chapin created story songs with social commentary still relevant today. His commitment to the world and to Long Island lives on through Long Island Cares, an organization that continues to help the needy in our area.

Harry Chapin wrote his politically conscious music by borrowing characters and circumstances from his life and inserting his personal insights into his creations. This program will honor Harry Chapin’s memory by sharing clips of performances that will include such classics as “Taxi” and “Cat’s in the Cradle,” as well as “Song for Myself,” “Story of a Life,” “Mr. Tanner,” and “Remember When the Music,” and many more. Approx: 110 minutes.
