Description

The Flagler Films Long Distance Hiking Cinema Tour comes to Portland. Award-winning filmmaker Mark Flagler takes his two inspirational documentaries on the road to nine cities, with thirteen shows in fourteen days.  Come watch the award-winning Appalachian Impressions, about hiking the world-famous Appalachian Trail. Or join us for Walking the Great Divide, capturing the iconic Continental Divide Trail, which traverses the United States from the Mexico border to Canada.

Walking the Great Divide captures the 3,100-mile Continental Divide Trail that stretches from Mexico to Canada, along the backbone of America. Filmmaker Mark Flagler interviews over 30 hikers as they embark on a 5-6 month thru-hike traversing New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana. Share the trials and triumphs as Flagler and his fellow hikers brave high-altitude trekking, intense desert heat, snow, thunderstorms and cross-country navigation.  Whether you walk only a few steps, or are planning a CDT thru-hike, you will quickly see why it is coined "The King of Trails."

Appalachian Impressions is an epic story about hiking the 2,173-mile Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. The film takes you on a six-month journey along the most famous long-distance hiking trail in the world. Along the way, you'll meet hikers who have embarked on this trek, carrying everything they need on their backs. You'll hear their stories, and experience the thrills and challenges of daily life on the trail. The documentary covers all fourteen states and captures the true essence of this historic pathway, its interesting characters, beautiful scenery and the generous spirit found in small town America.

Tickets are $12 and can be purchased online HERE.

Flagler Films will donate $1 per seat filled to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC) and Continental Divide Trail Coalition (CDTC).
