#feelings

It’s not you, but it’s not me, either. It’s these stupid #feelings. Let’s face it, modern love is weird. It’s confusing and scary and who was that guy who “liked” your new profile picture, anyway? But it’s also warm and fulfilling and annoying for everybody else but I don’t care because I really, really like you. Love is in the air, or at least it was until you walked in. So what’ll it be, will you marry me? Because it’s legal here, now. Meet me at the shorts screening and we’ll run away together. -JW

ALL FIGURED OUT

IndieFest turns 16 this year, and like any good adolescent, we know we’ve got everything all figured out. Or at least we would, if only she’d pay attention to us. If only they’d come to our party. If only they’d let us meet our real mother. If only we weren’t stuck here in this Podunk town. Ugh, just stop asking us questions and watch for yourself. I hate you!!! -JW

BABY BLUES

Polish director Katarzyna Roslaniec follows her controversial, irresistibly scrappy debut Mall Girls with this edgy and disarmingly frank look at teen pregnancy. “Unlike many films about teenage mothers, Baby Blues is anything but a piece of gloomy social realism. Instead, it is an exhilarating ride through a garishly coloured world of clothes, sex and drugs and a ribald look at Poland's fledgling capitalism.” (Berlin IFF) Plays with "Mai" (16mins). -KJ
